I bought a chute off one of those Facebook bidding sites last week. Who knew you could get agility equipment from those places? Equipment is so expensive; I can never afford to buy any, so this was a nice find. Now I need to find some cheap jumps, because the PVC contraptions I have just fall down when they see Dexter coming. They’ve just given up staying up.
Speaking of agility, Li’l Miss Mopey is back to her old self at practice, flying around the course. I don’t know what crawled up her precious little butt at Regionals, but it sure ruined our weekend!
I am still very proud of Dexter. I am still very chuffed about 9th place, such a huge improvement over last year. He is a lot more fun to run now that he is actually playing with me rather than in spite of me.
Still crazy though.
But crazy in a good way now. Mostly.
I thought more people would be proud of Dexter too, but the dearth of commentary on my blog lately makes me wonder if I am just blogging into the ether these days. I’m not whining or begging for comments; I know I don’t blog as much lately (hey come on, I have been blogging for almost NINE YEARS … it’s hard to keep up that pace!) but if nobody’s reading any more, maybe it’s time to say buh bye to Wootube? People like the entries on Facebook and stuff, but comments have been trailing off into nothingness, and Wootube doesn’t want to be that guy at the party that just. won’t. go home.
So tell me folks – is Wootube’s time done and gone? Should we shake hands, part ways and go about our lives?
Speak up! Don’t be chicken!
And especially don’t be one of my chickens. I raised 10 beautiful day-olds at work until they were old enough to go in with the big hens, and after less than two weeks at home, the coyotes busted into the pen and ate ALL TEN OF THEM IN ONE NIGHT. I am so sick of this damn coyote, I cannot begin to tell you. All that time and money and effort down the drain.
I admit it’s hard to find time to blog. The irony is that I am excited for the nice weather so that we can take photos, but the nice weather brings a lot more outdoor chores to get done. The dogs are sure enjoying their outdoor time though.
Ender and Addy always look like they are auditioning for So You Think You Can Dance when Ender tries to play with Addy.
I had a line on a potential home for Ender with an Italian Greyhound owner, but she stopped corresponding with me last week for no discernible reason. Poor Ender, even people who have not met him are annoyed by him :(
Addy and I are getting our agility on though. At practice this week I actually got her focused enough to do a short sequence that included an A-Frame. Her attention span is short, but I think with some effort, and an appropriate frisbee reward, we might actually be a fun team some day!
It’s going to be weird though, because she is so wee. Here’s a photo of her with TWooie so you can see how small she really is.
TWooie is not a huge dog, maybe 17″ at the shoulder.
This entry is also not going to be huge, cuz the dogs are nagging at me for their dinner.
So here’s a photo of Tweed radiating Tweedness. He’s such a wicked awesome dog.

Your blog is one of the few blogs that can make me laugh out loud. I would miss hearing about your crew, both the good and the bad. That damn coyote eating your chickens is definitely bad! The WooTwoo, definitely good. I can’t get enough of those two for some reason! I hope you can keep writing but I understand how hard it is to post. I have the same problem except I usually feel I don’t have much to say really.

Until late last fall I was a faithful follower who usually had a comment to share. In December there were 2 big changes in my life – husband and I decided to move from East Coast USA to West Coast USA and Claire dog crossed over the rainbow bridge. The passage was very difficult for us all, and within a month of her passing my husband went west. I’m moving out soon, with excitement and anxiety as my companions. However, the level of change and losses and grief in the past 6 months has been enormous and takes my breath (and words) away at times. Your blog has been a comfort, reminding me that there will be room in my heart someday for another dog.
Do what is best for you and your pack. I follow on FB but come here to get the whole story and review old ones, too.
Jennifer says
Please keep blogging! For those of us who are dog-deprived, seeing your crew always brightens the day.
Jolene says
keep blogging, I mostly lurk, not comment, enjoy reading your blog and laughing :)
Megan says
I never comment but I check your blog at least twice a week to see if there is anything new. It’s how I get my Border Collie fix since I only have one, even though I long for more.
Richard says
Never comment because really…”awww cute” doesn’t seem like much of a contribution.
Most blogs seem to have a finite lifespan. Likely due to changes in the blogger rather than the audience. I’m unlikely to ever delete you from my rss reader, just sadly move you to “obsolete” category if you go more than a year without an update

I’m another lurker who loves your blog. Not sure how long I’ve been reading, but it was before you got Dexter.
MsNform says
oh please, oh please, oh please food lady don’t stop blogging! I lurk without comment as I’ve nothing purposeful to add–tho now I know appreciation is purpose enough!!!!!! your gift for clarity, humor, and insight is uncommon and your ability to communicate it is a gift, yours and ours. thank you.
MsNform says
p.s. I despise Facebook and can’t follow you there…

We beg you, don’t give up the tube!!!! This is one of my favorite blogs, for the farming, pictures, doggie antics, shelter shenanigans, and everything else you post about!!! I know life gets hectic and busy, but even a few posts a month brighten our internet lives.
Caroline says
Oh my DOG Sheena, please don’t stop…. I have been following your blog since I found it way back when Briggs had goggles and I would sometimes run into you and the crew at Bridgeman. I don’t comment because I have nothing to add to the conversation but I check at least once a week for a new post and am often rewarded with a much needed laugh! My dear girl Lucie passed on in 2011 (thanks again for the wonderful pix) and I have been dogless since – Your crew are my cyber puppies!

Comments are down across the board at a lot of blogs I read — I think it’s because more people are reading from mobile devices, and it’s harder to comment that way. Lots of us out here still reading religiously, and I for one would be sad if you quit, for I have not yet joined this “Facebook” of which you speak.
Alicia Schlemm says
Noooo, don’t go!!!!! I check your blog 2-3 times a week, I really look forward to it!! I love your pictures and stories. I don’t do Facebook!!! Every time World Cup updates are on tv and they mention Fifa, I think of Mr. Woo and his Fifa and I yell “FFFIIIIIFFFFFAAAAA” and my Border Collies go nuts! I’m going to buy them a Fifa (they had one before and destroyed it.)
Sheryl says
Please don’t stop. I check your Blog at least once a week and I’m always happy when there’s a new post. I, too, have been reading your Blog for years and really enjoy it.

I keep coming over to read. FB lets me know when you update!

I’ve been reading your blog since before Briggs left you. I don’t comment often but I check in at least 2-3x a week looking for your newest posts. your blog has often been a bright spot during days where the sailing has been less than smooth. your humor and the antics of your gang never fail to bring a smile. I would be very sad if you stopped blogging.

Hi, I just wanted to say that I love your blog. I’m pretty shy so I have a hard time leaving comments, but I really appreciate these blog entries. I’ve been reading Wootube since before Dexter and Twooie (I can’t remember who came first!) and I always love reading about your adventures with your crew. I’m so sorry about your chickens. That stinks. I love the photos of Dexter and Tweed in this entry – they show their personalities so well.
Trina says
Please. Don’t. Stop. Seriously.
I don’t Facebook and would really miss this.
Heidi says
Please, oh please don’t quit writing. You are an awesome writer and I look forward to your posts like no other blog I read. It always gives me something to look forward to. Keep up the good work.
Lonneke says
Please don’t stop blogging! I am a lurker too, but I’ll promise to leaves comments from now on.
Your blog is the only one who can make me laugh out loud (or sometimes cry), you have a talent for telling (dog)stories together with your great pictures. Always looking forward to the next post.

Please keep on writing!!
I`m from Germany, so you are known even there and I`m a big fan : )

I ::heart:: your blog. I have multiple dogs and I also do rescue (corgis and border collies). Love your photos and I read every word of your blog when I discovered it a few years ago. Please keep up the good work !

Don’t go, FL.
Just. Don’t.
You may take a celebratory hiatus if and when you place (I mean get rid of) Ender. But that’s enough of a break.
Can you introduce Ender to the coyote and test his speed and nimbleness?
Jeff says
Noooo! Please don’t stop blogging. PLEASE!!?!?!
Your combination of writing and photography are priceless. I love keeping up to date on teh Woo crew and their antics, as told and captured by The Food Lady. Been following your blog since it was Three Woofs and a Woo.
I rarely comment here, because I don’t really have anything that adds to the conversation (or if I do someone else has already said it). But if it will help, I’ll drop in the occasional “I’m still here” comment, just to let you know you’re not shouting into the void.
And as others have already said, I’m not a FB fan. At all.
Thanks for all you do.

I have been reading your blog for I think about 6 years now. I enjoy your photos and stories and find that I often laugh out loud while reading. :)
I think I have only posted one comment in 6 years. I’d be really sad if you stopped. (I also don’t FB.)
Jenny says
I rarely comment as well as I rarely feel like my comments have anything new to say, but I too would be really sad if you stopped sharing. I check in 2-3 times a week in hopes of a new post and get excited when there’s an update. :)

I wrote earlier about how I would feel if you stopped blogging – sad, very sad – but I have a thought. Maybe putting the ‘post a comment’ link at the bottom of your posts instead of the top would tickle people into commenting more – just a thought. And threatening to stop blogging worked pretty well, too. :-)

I’ve been reading your blog for years and really enjoy it. I, too, laugh out loud!
Whatever your decision, I thank you for entertaining and amusing us.

I love your blog but don’t comment as I always think I’m a creepy lurker. You have taken our dogs photos in the past and I ran into you when you were at the North Van district shelter. I so enjoy reading about your crew (even the chickens!) and your sense of humour and wicked awesome photos keep me coming back for more. But…do what is best for you and yours….that’s what is most important.
Stef says
Please keep blogging, your stories and photos are very entertaining. I’ve been reading you since you got Dexter. TWooie is my fave, especially when he caught that fish. :-)
susan says
Good grief! Don’t you DARE stop blogging!! I don’t comment often (okay, hardly ever) because I don’t know diddley about agility trials. But I do love reading your radical accounts of agility trials – and everything else. PLUS, I love your photographs of the dogs. AND I love your dogs. You are quite amazing to keep all those personalities healthy and happy. Just amazing. So, keep it up. Pretty please.
Renee says
AUGHHH! I’d be heartbroken if you stopped blogging! WooTube is my favorite dog blog in existence and I’ve been reading/laughing/lurking for years. I don’t Facebook so this is my only means of Woo Crew updates, which I happily check for every other day. Nothing compares to this blog! Nothiiiinnnng. The writing, the photography, and the adventures are all just wonderful. Every update makes me want to get out and have more fun with my own dogs. Please keep on being awesome and inspiring! Please please pleeeeease :)

i’m one of those who always reads but rarely comments. i very much enjoy your blog and would miss it horribly if you gave it up! i’m not on facebook and wont be switching over. i’ve been following the wootube since back when it was two woofs and a woo. i love your commentary. love your pictures. love your dogs. love your blog. please dont quit!
Katie says
Love your blog. Don’t stop. I’ve never commented before and probably won’t start now.
Tami says
Nooooo! Please don’t go! Your blog is the only one I have bookmarked and check several times a week. I never comment, because really, what more is there to say after reading your great posts? I really dislike Facebook, too, so I much prefer the blog. I have been following for a few years, I think. You are also a fantastic photographer, capturing the spirit of all your dogs so well. It adds so much to Wootube!
minabey says
Awww please don’t stop blogging. Well, unless you REALLY NEED to. I’ve read your blog from even waaaay back (the old website/blog page) and it would really suck if you just shut it down. Anyway, I don’t always comment because mostly it would just say, “Hahaha, too funny,” or “I love Tweed!” or “Gosh, how floofy Twooie is.” Plus, your photos are awesome and so are you *sucks up*
Thanks for the laughs!

Keep posting. I enjoy your photos, commentary and snarky stories. I never comment on anything but if a comment a post will keep you going, I can do that.

Please keep blogging!

Your blog is my favorite, and I’ve been on board since before you revealed that Red Dog was really named “Briggs.”
The less-frequent updates do impact my participation, as I’m less likely to post when I find an update days or a week after it first appeared. But I do check the blog. It’s on my Firefox shortcuts toolbar.
I love your blog entries because your writing is so great in the essay form. If all we had was the Facebook updates, and while I do check those every day, something would be lost. Your creativity and insights really come out in your blog essays in ways they never could in Facebook posts.
You once did a long essay on Tweed, and it remains my favorite. I love your writing. I love what comes out of you and your dogs when you take the time to sit and write…with pix is great, too, as your photography is wonderful. But the way you amplify upon a theme is marvelous…something I would really miss if you stopped the blog updates.

I love your blog. I look forward to seeing it in my feed :D

Please keep blogging. I have told every dog person I know about your blog.I love the pictures and the fun stories and now i regularly use “The Flamboyance” tm in conversation because of you.

OMG, don’t even think of stopping…please??? I almost panic attacked when I read just now that you might leave us. Thankfully, I also see that you have decided to continue honoring us with your wit and wisdom, dog pics and Tweedness. :-) Woof!

I, too, would very much miss if you stopped blogging. I still check in quite frequently hoping for a new post (2-3x per week as many others have mentioned!) and I don’t do Facebook. I started reading back when Sport was part of the family. I miss the list of prior posts from the old blog page where you could click on a year, month, etc. and see the posts (I would go back and re-read my favorites from time to time, like the Mockumentary with Mr. Woo and the stuffed squirrel). I can’t figure out how to do that anymore. :( But, I love reading all the new posts – they still make me laugh, cry and miss having a pupster of my own! Thank you, thank you for sharing your adventures, stories, pictures, and dogs with us.

Need moar blog posts. I do not do this faceebookee thing.

Please don’t leave! You blog is seriously one of the only blogs I still faithfully read… but I have never really been a big commenter. Having also worked for an animal shelter, done agility with dogs and been a human in general… I really really love to read this. Please don’t stop! And we do all understand that you are busy. Don’t feel bad for not posting constantly… we know you have a life!

I love your blog. Much better than facebook. I don’t comment and tend to read them in batches. I look forward to sitting with a cup of coffee and reading what you and the gang are up too

I don’t comment but always read your blog. One of the few I actually read regularly. You have to do what works best for you but personally, I hope you keep writing and posting your photos.
